MY STORY
My first trip to Japan changed my life. I left a piece of my heart there…and I’ve been chasing Japan ever since.

MORE ABOUT ME
Hi again—I’m Lauren!
A native of Los Angeles, anime lover, and total experience seeker. My love for Japan began in childhood with the film My Neighbor Totoro. I was mesmerized by the quiet beauty, the deep connection to nature, and the culture that Miyazaki brought to life in the Studio Ghibli films. Those films ignited my dream of visiting Japan.
Fast forward to Spring 2024—my husband and I traveled to Japan for our honeymoon, and the experience changed me forever. I felt like I had found my home away from home. From the peaceful shrines tucked between neighborhoods to the tiny mom-and-pop shops with no tourists in sight, I discovered that the most soulful, authentic moments of Japan live beyond the Golden Route. Ever since, my heart has been calling me back again and again.
Professionally, my background is in UX design and animation production—so it’s no surprise that I’m drawn to thoughtful, aesthetic, and immersive experiences. With Chasing Japan Vibes, I’ve created a space to share the hidden side of Japan—the cozy corners, anime-inspired spots, design-forward boutique stays, and the kind of cultural magic that calls you back.
Let’s Chase Japan Together!

what I believe in
Nature Heals
The more moss, trees, and water—the better. Japan’s forest paths, hidden shrines and natural springs are life’s reset button.
Soulful Travel
It’s not about checking off landmarks; it’s about slowing down, tuning in, and feeling present and alive in every moment.
Food is the Heart
Local dishes and cuisine is a big part of the travel. Trying new food is the best way to authentically connect to the culture.
